Terms of Service

Last updated: April 26, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using TrustPeer (the "Platform" — our mobile apps and website at trustpeer.io), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Platform.

These Terms apply to everyone who uses the Platform: users who send connection requests ("Users"), content creators who receive them ("Influencers"), and visitors to our public pages.

2. Description of the Service

TrustPeer connects users with influencers through paid connection requests. Key features:

  • Connection Requests: Users pay to send a request to an influencer; an AI-generated DeepScore (0-100) indicates compatibility.
  • 30-Day Private Chat: Accepted requests open a private chat lasting 30 days.
  • Automatic Refunds: Requests not responded to within 7 days are automatically refunded.
  • Vouch System: Users can financially support influencers with public or private "vouches".
  • Influencer Levels: Influencers earn levels based on activity and engagement.
  • Subscriptions: Optional auto-renewable subscription plans for premium features (see Section 6).

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

To use TrustPeer, you must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age. We collect your date of birth at registration to enforce this.
  • Provide accurate registration information.
  • Keep your account credentials secure.
  • Notify us of any unauthorised use immediately.
  • Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.

You may register with email + password or with Sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or LinkedIn. By using third-party sign-in you authorise us to receive your name, email, and profile picture from those providers.

4. Connection Requests & Payments

4.1 Sending Requests

  • Connection-request prices are configured by the platform per influencer level.
  • Anonymous Requests cost more than standard requests (configured by the platform).
  • Payment is required before a request is delivered to the influencer.
  • On iOS, payments for digital goods are processed via Apple In-App Purchase as required by Apple Guideline 3.1.1. On Android, where required by Google Play Billing Policy, Google Play Billing is used. On the web and elsewhere, payments are processed via Stripe.
  • Prices are displayed in GBP; your store may convert to your local currency.

4.2 Expiration & Refunds

  • Influencers have 7 days to respond to a request.
  • Unresponded requests expire automatically; rejected and expired requests receive a full refund.
  • Refunds via Stripe arrive in 5-10 business days; refunds via Apple/Google IAP follow Apple's/Google's standard refund flow.
  • Once a request is accepted, the chat opens and no refund is available.

4.3 Accepted Requests & Chat

  • Accepted requests open a 30-day private chat.
  • Payment is held until the chat ends; funds are then released to the influencer minus platform fees.
  • All chat messages are subject to automated moderation (see Section 9).

5. Vouch System

  • Vouches are voluntary support payments to an influencer. They are not refundable once processed.
  • Vouches can be public or private at your choice.
  • Vouch prices are configured by the platform; private vouches cost more than public vouches.
  • On iOS, vouches are processed via Apple In-App Purchase where required by Apple Guideline 3.1.1.
  • Vouch funds are released to influencers per the platform payout schedule, after deducting platform fees.

6. Subscriptions & Auto-Renewal

TrustPeer offers optional auto-renewable subscription plans for premium features. The following terms apply on iOS, in addition to Apple's standard Apple Media Services Terms:

  • Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
  • The subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected plan.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) or via Google Play (Play Store → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
  • No cancellation of the current subscription is allowed during the active subscription period.
  • Free trial unused portion, if any is offered, is forfeited when you purchase the subscription.

The current price for each plan, the duration of any free trial, and the renewal period are shown on the subscription screen before you purchase.

7. Influencer Terms

7.1 Application & Verification

  • Anyone meeting our minimum criteria can apply to be an influencer.
  • Applications are reviewed by our team. We may approve, deny, or request additional verification.
  • Verified influencers must keep profile information accurate.

7.2 Earnings & Payouts

  • Influencers earn from accepted requests and vouches.
  • Earnings become withdrawable after the holding period ends.
  • Payouts are processed via Stripe Connect or, optionally, manual bank transfer after admin verification of bank details.
  • Minimum withdrawal amount is £50.
  • Stripe Connect transfers typically arrive within 1-5 business days.

7.3 Tax

Influencers are responsible for declaring and paying any tax on their TrustPeer earnings. We may report earnings to tax authorities where legally required.

8. Prospect Influencer Profiles & Takedown

TrustPeer allows users to request a public figure who is not yet on the platform. When approved, we may create a prospect profile using publicly-available information (public name, public profile photo, public bio, public social links). A prospect profile is clearly marked as unclaimed; it does not represent endorsement by the public figure and does not enable messaging until they claim it.

If you are the public figure on a prospect profile you have two free options at any time:

  1. Claim the profile by registering with the email associated with it. The profile becomes yours and you can edit or delete any of its content.
  2. Request removal by emailing support@trustpeer.io from a contact reasonably linkable to you (e.g. an email address listed on your verified social media bio, or sent via a verified social-media DM that we can confirm). We will remove the profile within 7 days and refund any pending support payments to the people who made them.

You agree, when submitting a request to add a public figure, that you are not submitting under false pretences, that the information you provide is true, and that you understand a prospect profile may be created from public sources.

Right of publicity / personality rights: we operate prospect profiles within the bounds of fair use and legitimate interest, with prominent unclaimed labelling and a free, fast takedown route. Nothing in this section limits any rights you may have under your jurisdiction's personality, publicity, or data-protection laws.

9. Conduct & Content Moderation

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Platform for any illegal purpose.
  • Harass, abuse, threaten, or stalk other users.
  • Send spam, unsolicited solicitations, or repeated unwanted messages.
  • Post sexually-explicit content; any sexual content involving minors will be reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
  • Impersonate another person, organisation, or public figure.
  • Promote violence, terrorism, self-harm, or discrimination based on protected characteristics.
  • Attempt to circumvent payment systems or solicit off-platform payments.
  • Create multiple accounts to abuse the system or evade a ban.
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated methods to access the Platform.
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of any TrustPeer system without authorisation.
  • Share another person's private personal information without consent ("doxing").
  • Share your account credentials with anyone.

Moderation: we use OpenAI's moderation API on every chat message to flag harassment, sexual content involving minors, threats, hate speech, and self-harm content. Flagged content is reviewed by our moderation team within 24 hours. We may remove content, suspend accounts, or ban users who repeatedly violate these rules. You can also report any user or content directly via the three-dot menu in their profile or chat.

10. Content Guidelines & Your Content Licence

All content you post must:

  • Be accurate and not misleading.
  • Not infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights.
  • Not contain illegal, harmful, or grossly-offensive material.
  • Comply with all applicable laws.

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting, you grant TrustPeer a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, and display that content as needed to operate the Platform. This licence ends when you delete the content (or delete your account), except to the extent we must retain it for legal or audit purposes.

11. Intellectual Property

The Platform — its design, code, trademarks, and original content — is owned by TrustPeer and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other IP laws. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the Platform except as expressly permitted by these Terms.

12. Termination & Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account. The account is queued for hard-deletion after a 30-day grace period; you can cancel during the grace period.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, for:

  • Material violation of these Terms.
  • Fraudulent, illegal, or abusive behaviour.
  • Activity that puts other users or our infrastructure at risk.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, indemnification, limitation of liability, governing law) survive.

13. Disclaimers

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

  • The Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free.
  • Influencers will respond to or accept your requests.
  • The DeepScore is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
  • The quality of any connection made through the Platform.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRUSTPEER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO TRUSTPEER IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) £100. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless TrustPeer and its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales (without regard to conflict-of-law principles). Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If unresolved within 30 days, disputes will be submitted to binding arbitration under UK arbitration rules, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for IP infringement or unauthorised access.

Nothing in these Terms restricts statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

17. App Store Acknowledgements

You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and TrustPeer, not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Platform or the content of these Terms.

If you obtained the iOS app from the Apple App Store, the Apple Media Services Terms apply additionally; Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them. The same applies to Google with respect to the Google Play Store.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

19. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and TrustPeer regarding the Platform.

20. Contact
